Saint Clare Academic Scholarship 

Available to first-time freshmen entering in the fall of 2017.‚Äč

The Saint Clare Academic Scholarship is named after Saint Clare of Assisi, who modeled a simple lifestyle rooted in service and prayer. She was committed to protecting the integrity of each person and also emphasized the thoughtful stewardship of all material resources. Saint Clare’s teachings are reflected in Marian University’s Franciscan values of dignity of the individualpeace and justicereconciliation, and responsible stewardship, which are informed by prayer.

Marian University awards the Saint Clare Academic Scholarship to new first-time freshmen. The amount of the award is $6,000 annually, based on prior academic achievement, demonstrated leadership, and ability to contribute as a student to Marian University. The scholarship is renewable for up to three additional years by enrolling full-time and maintaining a university GPA of a 3.00 or higher.

To be considered, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a minimum high school GPA of 3.0.
  • Earn the minimum test scores listed below on one of the following exams:
    • 1000 (Critical Reading and Math portions) on the SAT - completed in February 2016 or prior.
    • 1080 (Critical Reading and Math portions) on the New 2016 SAT - completed in March 2016 or later.
    • 22 ACT composite. 
  • Demonstrate a record of leadership and community service.
  • Commit to an educational experience framed within the context of Marian University’s Franciscan values of dignity of the individualpeace and justicereconciliation, and responsible stewardship, informed by prayer. 

Eligibility is determined at the time of admission on a rolling basis. Recipients of the Saint Clare Academic Scholarship will be notified of their award with the Accepted Student Packet.
