Speech & Debate Team Award

The Speech & Debate Team Award is an annually renewable scholarship for students who compete on the Marian University speech team.

The program awards $2,000 scholarships to incoming students (the amount may vary if a student receives more than one talent-based award). Students transferring from a two-year college where they have competed in forensics may also apply for the award.

Eligibility

Applicants for the Speech Team Award must:

Have completed the Marian University admissions application process and been admitted in good standing.
Possess strong potential for academic success.
Have experience in speech, debate, and/or related activities.
Commit to an educational experience framed within the context of Marian University’s Franciscan values of dignity of the individual, peace and justice, reconciliation, and responsible stewardship.

Application Process

Applicants must complete and submit the Marian University Speech Team Award Application before they have received a financial award/aid letter from Marian University.
Eligible candidates must schedule an interview with Dr. George LaMaster.
