Shelter in Place
Notification Severe weather alert sirens, radio or TV. Campus-wide voice mail, e-mail message, or messengers with bullhorns
Who to Call Do not call.

If you see large amounts of debris in the air, or if local authorities say the air is badly contaminated, you should:

  1. Close exterior doors and windows.

  2. Move away from windows and doors to the interior space of buildings. Take an emergency radio and flashlight, if available.

  3. Do not use elevators.

  4. Campus procedures are in place that will initiate the shut-down of air handling systems for buildings so outside air is not brought into the building.

  5. Monitor the radio and other resources to determine the status of the event.

  6. If specifically told to evacuate or seek medical treatment, do so immediately.
