The Drew Family

Drew Family

Blessed with strong family values and spirited by commitment to hard-work, the Drew Family dedicates much of their time to philanthropy, showing unwavering support for health care and Catholic education.

These efforts would not be possible without the example set by previous generations of the Drew Family. A family legacy based on steadfast values that have been passed down for generations of faithful Drew women and men, the family continuously demonstrates a Franciscan understanding of dignity of the individual, peace and justice, reconciliation, and responsible stewardship.

With several members of the Drew Family as proud alumni they have given back to Marian University countless times. We especially recognize the Drew Family for their support to Marian University athletics with the William K. Drew Hall of Champions, but their giving has not stopped there. Whether it was establishing an endowed scholarship or supporting the Alan and Sue Leighton School of Nursing, their contributions to Marian University have made a difference in the lives of students and will continue to impact Marian for years to come.

About the Franciscan Values Awards

Marian University traces its roots to 1851, when the Sisters of St. Francis, Oldenburg, Indiana founded a teacher training school to serve the needs of the Catholic community in southeastern Indiana. The Sisters established Marian College in Indianapolis in 1937; today Marian University offers students an excellent education that emphasizes a Franciscan understanding of the values of dignity of the individual, peace and justice, reconciliation, and responsible stewardship. These values represent the legacy of our founders, the Sisters of St. Francis, Oldenburg, Indiana and the foundation of our personal approach to educating the whole person. In honor of this legacy, each year Marian University presents the Franciscan Values Awards in recognition of contributions to our community.
