Before SOAR

Before you arrive on campus for your Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration (SOAR) session, you should:

  • Pay your $100 enrollment deposit.
You will not be able to meet with an academic advisor or register for classes until this deposit is paid in full.
  • Complete your online student health form.
Our Student Health Form is available online. Complete and submit your form by August 1.

What to Bring to SOAR

Here are some things we recommend you to bring with you to your SOAR session:

  • Notepad and pen
Take notes and jot down questions throughout the day.
  • Comfortable shoes
While you will be seated for much of the event, there is a good deal of walking throughout the day.
  • Cell phone and charger
Exchange information with SOAR leaders, other new students, and post photos of campus and the event on your favorite social channels.
  • Advisor notes
If you have an extra copy of your high school transcript and/or notes about dual-credit and AP courses you've taken, ACT/SAT scores, IB scores, etc. bring them with you.

You might want to bring a light jacket or sweater, an umbrella, and spending money to buy some Marian University apparel and swag at the campus bookstore.

Overnight SOAR sessions

If you'll be attending an overnight SOAR, here are some things you'll want to bring:

  • A change of clothes for evening activities and pajamas
  • Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, face wash, shower products, etc.)
  • Alarm clock (if you prefer not to use your cell phone alarm)

Bed pillows and linens are provided.
