INDIANAPOLIS - The Marian College men's basketball team opened the 10th annual Ken Elmendorf Memorial Tournament with 110-51 victory over Holy Cross College. The Knights improved to 3-1 on the season.
Five Knights scored in double figures as they raced out to a 36-10 lead in the first 13 minutes of the game and never looked back en route to a 55-20 halftime lead.
The Knights outscored the Saints 35-16 to take a 54-point lead before coasting in with the 110-51 victory.
Sophomore Anthony Furlin (Fishers, Indiana/Hamilton Southeastern) scored a team-high 20 points and handed out four assists to lead the Knights. Sophomore Jordan Tucker (Kirklin, Indiana/Clinton Central) added 19 points and six rebounds while freshman Alex Sylvester (Indianapolis/Perry Meridian) scored 18 points and grabbed a team-high seven boards.
Junior Heath Chamberlain (Brazil, Indiana/Northview) added 11 points and freshman Jameson Wheeler (Plainfield, Indiana/Plainfield) had 10 points and three assists.
The Knights will meet No. 12-ranked Indiana Tech, which defeated Illinois Tech 105-63, in Saturday's championship game at 3 p.m. Illinois Tech and Holy Cross will battle in the consolation game at 1 p.m. in the Physical Education Center.
