CRAWFORDSVILLE, Indiana - The Marian College men's basketball team opened the Pete Thorn Tournament on Friday night with a 71-62 win over IU-Southeast at Chadwick Court in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
The Knights improved to 5-4 on the season.
Sophomore Jordan Tucker (Kirklin, Indiana/Clinton Central) led three Knights in double figures with 19 points while freshman Alex Sylvester (Indianapolis/Perry Meridian) added 13 points, three rebounds, and two assists.
Junior J.R. Howell (Lapel, Indiana/Lapel) added 11 points for the Knights who opened a five-point lead at half after trailing by as much as 13 in the first frame.
Sophomore Gabriel Cotton (Fishers, Indiana/Hamilton Southeastern) had a game-high 10 rebounds for the Knights.
The win puts the Knights into the championship game at 3 p.m. on Saturday. The Knights will play Wabash College on its home floor at Chadwick Court.
