GOSHEN, Indiana - The Marian College men's soccer team fell to the Goshen College Maple Leafs on Saturday night, 2-1, on the road. The Knights dropped to 3-11 on the season and 0-5 in MCC play.
Goshen scored the opening goal at the 34:43 mark and the match remained 1-0 through halftime.
The Leafs tallied the eventual match-winner at the 67:39 mark before the Knights responded.
Freshman Adam Sheckler (Mooresville, Indiana/Mooresville) got on the end of a through ball from senior T.J. Rauch (Guilford, Indiana/East Central) and punched it home at the 78:13 mark to cut the gap to 2-1.
The Maple Leafs held for the final 12 minutes and handed the Knights their eighth straight defeat.
Junior goalkeeper Brad Sontag (Plainfield, Indiana/Plainfield) made six saves for the Knights.
The team heads to the University of Saint Francis on Wednesday in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The match is scheduled for 4 p.m.
