Knights sweep Kuyper; improve to 10-0 - 12/15/2008

 
 
INDIANAPOLIS - The Marian College women's basketball team made it 10 straight victories on Monday afternoon as it defeated the Kuyper College Cougars, 82-25, at the Physical Education Center.
 
The Knights are now 10-0 on the season.
 
Marian College jumped out to a 50-9 lead at halftime and never looked back en route to the 82-25 win.
 
Freshman Courtney Wesner (Chalmers, Indiana/Frontier) had a game-high 20 points and added five rebounds to lead the Knights. Junior Kristin Houck (Brownsburg, Indiana/Brownsburg) added 11 points in just 13 minutes.
 
Sophomore Hannah Holmes (Ellettsville, Indiana/Edgewood) also had 11 points, two assists, three rebounds, and three steals.
 
Freshman Christina Lorah (Indianapolis/Roncalli) had a career-high five assists and led the Knights with a game-high seven rebounds.
 
The Knights outrebounded Kuyper, 51-30, and the Knights bench outscored the Cougars, 60-25.
 
The Knights head to Terre Haute, Indiana, on Thursday to battle the Fighting Engineers of Rose-Hulman. The game is scheduled for 6 p.m. and will be broadcast LIVE at www.marian.edu/athletics by clicking on the Broadcast link.
