Allison Fellows
Each year Marian University will recognize a select group of students entering the Business Creation and Development program. These students will have an outstanding academic background coupled with a desire to use their Marian University education in an entrepreneurial pursuit shortly after graduation. Apply online now.
The fellowship is named for Indianapolis' James A. Allison, an internationally renowned entrepreneur and co-founder of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. It was on his estate that Marian University was established
in 1937. The James A. Allison fellowship is accompanied by a scholarship
of up to $6,000 annually.
The
James A. Allison Fellowship Requirements
Students
will apply for the fellowship by subscribing to the following:
- Submission
of an essay stating their interest in the area of Entrepreneurship/Business
Creation and Development
- Grade
Point Average of 3.00 cumulative from high school or a
SAT score of 1000
- Campus
Interview
- Demonstrated
experience with entrepreneurship – direct or indirect
The James
A. Allison Fellowship is a renewable annually. In order
to retain participation as a James A. Allison Fellow. The
student will be expected to:
- Maintain an overall GPA of 3.00 in college courses
- Demonstrate
timely academic progress in the Business Creation and Development
Program
- Meet
with the BCD Program Director at least two times
each semester
- By
the student’s junior year they must declare the
business industry for the capstone plan
- Build
a business portfolio which includes
- Establish
a relationship with a business of interest to the
student
- Research
the industry of the student’s interest
- Research
a business opportunity of the student’s interest
