Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the most common questions we receive from new students about living on campus in at Marian University. If you don't see the answer to your question here, please contact us at housing@marian.edu.

Air Conditioners

  • All residence halls at Marian University are air conditioned.

Cable Television

  • Cable TV connections are available in all rooms, but you'll need to bring your own television to watch it in your room.


  • We do not provide carpet for your room, but you may bring your own. Please refer to the room dimensions on the residence hall page if you want to bring wall-to-wall carpet or area rugs.


  • Our room furniture is provided by University Loft. Each room includes one bed frame, a twin extra long mattress, desk and desk chair, clothes closet, and a dresser for each resident. Furniture MUST remain in rooms and may not be removed.


  • Keep it clean! You can do your laundry free of charge in our residence halls. Laundry rooms are located in the lower levels of Doyle, Clare, and University Halls. In Drew Hall, the laundry room is located on the first floor. If you notice washer or dryer is malfunctioning, please notify your RA or submit a work order to have it fixed. Off-Campus Storage

  • We do not offer storage for student belongings other than that inside your residence hall room. Some students and families, especially those not from the local area, may wish to have extra space for personal property. Here is a list of off campus storage units to consider if you need additional storage.

Renter's Insurance

  • Do you want insurance that protects your personal belongings while living on campus? The National Student Services, INC (NSSI) offers renter's and personal property insurance coverage for college students to protect phones, computers, laptops, tablets, TVs, microwaves, and more. Their coverage is recognized at 2,500 colleges and universities, including Marian University. Visit www.nssi.com for information and to review their renter's insurance brochure.

Residence Hall Policies

  • Please understand and review Marian University's residence hall policies and Code of Student Rights and Responsibilities. You are responsible for following and abiding by university policies when you sign a housing contract the Simple Campus Housing website.

Roommate Assignment

  • You will be notified about your roommate selection in late July (for the fall semester) and early January (for the spring semester). We will send you a packet of information that includes your residence hall room number and contact information for your new roommate. We encourage you to reach out to your new roommate to get acquainted before you arrive on campus, if possible. If your housing application is received after roommage assignments have been made, assignments are made on a rolling basis. 

Wireless (WiFi) Internet Access

  • All rooms in Marian University residence halls have wireless Internet access. Once you have an active student IT account, you will be able to utilize the campus wireless network.
