Double-Occupancy Rooms

All new first-year, full-time undergraduates are housed in Doyle Hall or Clare Hall in double occupancy rooms with roommates.

Some new students are housed together in campus living-learning communities:

  • Honors Academy students
  • Engineering students
  • Alverna Hall*
  • Peace and Justice*

* NOTE: You must request, register, and be approved for Alverna Hall and Peace and Justice living-learning housing.

Single-Occupancy Rooms

  • A minimal number of single rooms are available for new and returning students. Single rooms are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • The additional cost is $630 per semester. If not all double-occupancy rooms are filled for a given semester, double-occupancy rooms may be rented as single-rooms for an additional $825 per semester.
  • If you need a single room due to a medical condition, make note of this on the campus housing application. Your medical documentation should be mailed to:

All-Access Residential Meal Plan

  • Residential students are required to have this plan, which gives you unlimited entry to the Barbara B. Cooling Dining Hall (our main dining room) whenever it is open.
  • Never worry about how many meals you've used or how many you have left. You can grab lunch with classmates, meet your study group for evening ice cream, or have coffee with a professor. Bring your laptop and surf the net. Stay as long as you like!
  • Includes $300 in flex dollars that supplement your meal plan for the semester. Flex dollars work like a debit card. Each time you make a purchase, the total is subtracted from your balance. Flex dollars do not roll over to a new semester. They can be used in the dining hall or:
    • Subway
    • Starbucks
    • Papa Johns
    • Grille Works
    • P.O.D. Market
  • If you run out of flex dollars, you can add Knight Bucks to your account in increments of $50 from this web page: marian.campusdish.com. Knight Bucks rollover each semester as long as you are a registered, enrolled student. Watch for special Knight Bucks promotions throughout the year to save money!
  • You will get five (5) guess passes per semester or a total of ten (10) passes per year to use when friends or family visit campus.

Other Meal Plans

  • If you live in a campus house, campus apartment, are a commuter student who is approved to live in off-campus housing, or if you are a graduate student, you are not required to have the residential meal plan.
  • We still want you to have the ease and convenience to join friends for lunch or have coffee with a professor, however, so you will be assessed $200 for a commuter meal plan and given flex dollars to use at any campus dining location. Flex dollars do not rollover to new semesters.
  • Graduate students can add declining balance dollars or a commuter meal plan to their accounts. Click here for more details.
