Ben Tebbe, Director of Theatre
Ben Tebbe earned his B.A. in theatre from Marian University in 1999. He has been working consistently as a professional actor since that time and is a member of Actors' Equity Association, the union for professional actors and stage managers. His professional credits include work with Indiana Repertory Theatre (Julius Caesar, Macbeth, Hamlet, Twelfth Night, Romeo & Juliet, A Christmas Carol), Phoenix Theatre (Clybourne Park, Avenue Q, The Lieutenant of Inishmore, Urinetown: the Musical, Orson’s Shadow), ShadowApe Theatre Company (Gorey Stories, Not A Peep), Beef&Boards Dinner Theatre (Father of the Bride) and Contemporary American Theatre Company in Columbus, Ohio (Complete History of America Abridged).
In addition to his work as an actor, Mr. Tebbe is a founding member of Heartland Actors’ Repertory Theatre (HART) and was Company Manager for the first three years of HART’s existence. For HART he has performed in The Tempest, Twelfth Night, Taming of the Shrew, Death and the Maiden, The Merchant of Venice, Much Ado About Nothing, staged readings of Happy Birthday, Wanda June, and An Evening of Edgar Allan Poe, and stage managed the world premiere production of Midwestern Hemisphere. He was instrumental in the development of Shakespeare on the Canal, the free summer show from HART in White River State Park.
Mr. Tebbe is a 2011-12 Creative Renewal Fellowship recipient from the Arts Council of Indianapolis and the Lilly Foundation.
