Auntie Tigress and other Tales of Magical Beasts from China

The Marian University Department of Theatre will be touring Auntie Tigress and Other Tales of Magical Beasts from China to central Indiana schools May 8-19, 2017. The play is geared particularly for students in grades PreK-2 and consists of story adaptations based on tales and myths from China. Running time is approximately 35 minutes.

Auntie Tigress is an entertaining and engaging play that will also educate and support your teaching. Through the play we:

  • Explore themes of teamwork, generosity, determination, and creativity
  • Explore Chinese cultures and language
  • Encourage students to participate in the art of storytelling
  • Inspire creativity in art, music and drama
  • Indiana Academic Standards covered [English/Language Arts: RL.3; RL.4; SL.1; SL.3; Theatre: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10]

Tickets are $3 per student. Teachers and staff are free. If you do not have a theatre we can perform in most any venue including classrooms, libraries, cafeterias, or gymnasiums.
