Marian University is indeed, on the move and making history! August 24, 2011, marked another of many recent historical dates for the university when ground was broken for the new Michael A. Evans Center for Health Sciences. Mr. Evans, a noted scientist and founder of AIT Laboratories, made a $48 million gift and magnanimous pledge to Marian University which kicked off the creation of the first medical school to be built in Indiana since 1903 and the first school of osteopathic medicine in the state. The Michael A. Evans Center for Health Sciences represents a tremendous boon to the economy in central Indiana. In an economic impact study released in September of 2010, the building construction alone will create 320 direct jobs and nearly $57 million worth of economic impact statewide. The building, set to open in 2013, will also house Marian University’s School of Nursing.
