Marian University Mourns the Loss of Dexter Massey

Dexter MasseyThe Marian University is mourning the tragic loss of for Dexter Raymonz Massey Jr., a fifth-year senior majoring in history, and a former member of the Marian University Knights National Championship football team. On behalf of everyone at Marian University, I want to express my heartfelt condolences to Dexter’s family and friends. The loss of such a promising student and athlete deeply saddens and affects us all. He will be greatly missed by his coaches, professors, and many friends.

Dexter apparently died in his sleep early Saturday, November 16, 2013. Although a cause of death has not yet been determined, authorities do not expect foul play. An autopsy is pending. 

The university is making grief counselors available on campus. Students can walk in or call the Learning and Counseling Center (LCC) on the first floor of Clare Hall or at 317.955.6150.
