Biography

Garren P. Gebhardt, DO is a 1994 graduate of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey School of Osteopathic Medicine. He joined MU-COM as part of the inaugural faculty as assistant professor in osteopathic manipulative medicine/internal medicine in 2013.

Dr. Gebhardt completed a traditional osteopathic rotating internship at the Reading General Hospital in Reading, Pennsylvania. He then attended an internal medicine residency at the University of Massachusetts and spent a year as a fellow of infectious diseases in Massachusetts.Dr. Gebhardt established a solo practice in southern Vermont and in 2006 he earned his board certification in neuromusculoskeletal medicine/osteopathic manipulative medicine.

He has served on the board of the Southern Vermont AIDS Project as well as the Southern Vermont Needle Exchange. Dr. Gebhardt moved to Indiana in 2008 where he has been in private practice. He regularly precepts osteopathic medical students and most recently been involved in the admission process at MU-COM. He is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, the American Academy of Osteopathy, the Indiana Osteopathic Association and is a national speaker for the AOA department of Practice Management and Delivery Innovations.

Dr. Gebhardt’s personal interests are theology, fine arts, and fine food.
