What is MUSNA?
A pre-professional organization for nursing students. It allows pre-nursing and nursing students to build a support system both academically and socially for greater success as a nursing student. It prepares students for involvement in professional nursing organizations upon graduation.

Sigma Theta Tau
Sigma Theta Tau International, honor society for nursing, was founded in 1922 by six nursing students at Indiana University. Sigma Theta Tau International is the second largest nursing organization in the United States and among the five largest and most prestigious in the world.
The Society exists to:
- Recognize superior achievements in nursing
- Encourage leadership development
- Foster high nursing standards
- Stimulate creative work
- Strengthen the commitment to the ideals of the profession
Membership is conferred only upon nursing students in baccalaureate or graduate programs who demonstrate excellence in nursing or upon qualified bachelors, masters, and doctoral graduates who demonstrate exceptional achievement in the nursing profession.
Students must possess a minimum GPA of 3.00 and be in the top 35 percent of their class to be considered for nomination. Students may be inducted in April during their junior or senior years. Alumni and community leaders are eligible for nomination.
Omega Chapter was chartered in 1962 at DePauw University. With the closure of the School of Nursing at DePauw University, that chapter joined with Marian College to form the DePauw University-MarianUniversity Omega Chapter-At-Large in 1994.
The Omega chapter has two general meetings: Fall Educational Conference sponsored with Lambda Epsilon and Spring Chili Supper with a speaker.
