Congratulations on your acceptance to Marian University! Not only will you be making the transition to college life, but also to Indiana. Through New Student Orientation, we are here to help you become familiar with campus and ensure you're able to complete all required steps to start classes at Marian.
The following information applies to students coming to Marian from outside of the United States (international students) and students who live in states other than Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, and Kentucky (long distance students).
Students starting classes in January will be able to register for our virtual winter orientation beginning in October. We will only have one orientation for this group.
For international and long-distance students starting in the fall, we offer a virtual, online Orientation program in July, so you won’t have to make a mid-summer trip to Marian. If you are already in Indianapolis prior to August or would prefer to travel to participate in-person, you are welcome to register and join us for one of our in-person programs instead.
Once registered, we encourage you to check you email at least every week, as we’ll be sending you information and steps you can take throughout the summer to be ready to start classes at Marian in August. There are a few steps we’ll need you to complete prior to Orientation to be able to register for your classes and we will be communicating those with you over email. We will also share with you prior to Orientation the schedule and how to access the online program.
Once you’ve completed all of the necessary steps for Orientation, your academic advisor will be reaching our to you through your new @marian.edu email address to share instructions to register for classes. We’ll help you get access to that account prior to Orientation. Your academic advisor will not schedule your classes for you, but will be a resource for you as you create your fall class schedule.
2025 summer New Student Orientation programs take place on the following dates:
