Advanced Study Program

Talk to us about earning dual high school and college credit.

Get a jump start on your college career! Marian University's Ancilla College Advanced Study Program provides you with an excellent opportunity to earn college credit before you finish high school.

  • Our rigorous, college-level courses enable you to simultaneously earn BOTH high school and college credit.
  • By taking dual-credit courses in high school, you'll have fewer courses to complete toward earning your degree when you get to college.
  • Earning dual credit is a great way to ensure you stay on track to graduate from college.
  • You'll also save money on tuition expenses with our rebates and discounted tuition rates for dual-credit students!

How does it work?

The credits you earn will transfer toward a degree at Marian University's Ancilla College. In most cases, they will also transfer to other colleges.

  • Credits earned from Marian University are generally accepted for transfer by other colleges and universities, provided you receive a grade of C or higher for each course you take.
  • Each college has different guidelines, however. There is no guarantee that your credits will transfer toward a degree from every university to which you might apply in the future.

If you are admitted to our Advanced Study Program, you agree to abide by all university policies and procedures, including those for tuition and fee payment. Enrolling in this program does not commit you to attend Marian University's Ancilla College after you finish high school.

What are the admission criteria and who is eligible?

To be admitted to Marian University's Advanced Study Program, you must:

  1. Have completed your sophomore year and be a current junior or senior in high school who has not graduated
  2. Be under the age of 19
  3. Have a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA

NOTE: You must obtain a grade of C or higher in your first enrolled course in order to continue in the program and take courses in subsequent semesters.

How much does it cost?

Regular tuition

Tuition rates for high school students interested in dual-credit study are offered at a discount. The cost is $25 per credit hour, which means a standard three-credit Advanced Study Program course costs $75. Students may take up to 36 hours of dual credit courses at Marian University.

  • Once you are admitted and registered, you will receive a tuition bill. Personal checks and money orders payable to Marian University are accepted, as are major credit cards.
  • Tuition rates are set annually and are subject to change. Any student with an unpaid balance will not be permitted to register for future courses.
