JumpStart Summer Bridge Program

Wednesday, August 14 to Friday, August 16, 2024

JumpStart is a summer bridge program the week before classes start in August, focusing on academic preparation, leadership, wellness, and community building. The program is designed to ease the transition into university life for students while equipping them with the necessary skills and support to excel in their first year.

Jumpstart Timeline

JumpStart is from Wednesday, August 14 to Friday, August 16.

  • On Wednesday morning, residential Jumpstart students will be able to move-in early and complete KnightQuest. JumpStart officially begins at 2:00 p.m.. We'll spend that first afternoon getting to know one another and getting things started prior to dinner, floor meetings, and our evening trivia social.
  • Thursday is focused on preparing you to thrive at Marian. You'll learn how to excel in the classroom, resources to utilize, meet professors, and familiarized with Marian. In the evening, we'll have our bowling night, one of our favorite JumpStart traditions.
  • On Friday morning, we'll be wrapping things up with a few activities and getting ready to send you off for New Student Convocation at 3:00 p.m., which signals the end of JumpStart and the start of Welcome Week activities.

At JumpStart, You Will:

  • Build connections with fellow incoming students, student mentors, staff, and faculty.
  • Learn about how you can excel during your time at Marian.
  • Get familiarized with campus and resources you can utilize.
  • Connect with an academic coach who you will work with throughout your first year.

Registration Info and Dates to Know

JumpStart registration closes Friday, July 19 at 3:00 p.m. or once we run out of space in the program, whichever comes first. We will reach out to all registrants in July to confirm your plans to attend.
