A step-by-step guide will help instructors identify specific institutional learning outcomes and criteria addressed in their course and use those as they assess student assignments.
The assessment/SoTL grant program seeks to enhance departmental/program assessment practices and support faculty and student affairs educators in their efforts assessing student learning and engaging in the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL). The IAC encourages programs, departments, faculty, and student affairs educators to apply; however, preference will be given to collaborative, interdisciplinary, and/or interprofessional projects. Awardees will receive up to $2,000 to support assessment/SoTL projects. Both large-scale and mini projects will be considered.
Marian maintains a public libguides site that seeks to provide assessment resources to faculty and staff within and outside of Marian. The site contains links to evidence-based teaching guides, books, e-books, etc.
The IAC hosts the annual Assessment Showcase, a public event designed to showcase best practices in assessment at Marian. Sessions highlight meaningful assessment projects among faculty and student affairs educators as well as effective program-level assessment practices.
