Mission

To support the Marian community through one-on-one collaboration and instruction as they strengthen their oral presentation skills.

About our consultants

At the Speaking Studio, our peer consultants are fellow learners, collaborators, and colleagues, with a little more experience. Our goal is always to think about how we can collaborate with our visitors. Instead of telling our peers exactly what to do or what to say, we focus on finding solutions together.

A Speaking Studio consultant is:

  • Collaborative
  • Open
  • Honest
  • Supportive
  • Respectful
  • Accurate

Speaking Studio code of ethics

Our commitment to our campus and peers is to:

  • Act in a way that promotes trust
  • Hold each other accountable
  • Serve one another with respect
  • Engage the whole person
  • Cultivate an inclusive and safe space
  • Maintain open communication
  • Respect the rights and confidentiality of the student and the consultation

And through these standards, we can each act at all times, in good faith, as an ambassador of the Marian University Speaking Studio.
