Spring 2025 Creative Knights Awards

We are excited to announce the Spring 2025 Creative Knights Awards, an opportunity to honor the most talented creative producers across Marian University. Formerly known as the Arts and Media Awards, these prestigious accolades celebrate outstanding student achievements in writing, media production, art and design, theater, and music. 

Eligibility 

All undergraduate students from Marian, St. Joe, and Ancilla are welcome to participate, regardless of major. 

Submission Deadline 

Submissions are due by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, March 23, 2025, via email to mdcawards@marian.edu. 

Award Categories 

Awards span multiple disciplines, including: 

  • Writing: Critical Essay, Poetry, Short Fiction, Nonfiction 
  • Media Production: Photography, Podcasting, Video Production 
  • Art and Design: 2D Art, 3D Art, Graphic Design 
  • Theater: Acting, Technical Theatre & Design 
  • Music: Instrumental Performance, Vocal Performance 

Prizes 

First place winners in each category will receive $75, second place $50, and third place $25. The awards are sponsored by the College of Arts and Sciences, Departments of Communication, English, Music, Arts and Design, and Theatre. 

Submission Guidelines 

  1. Submit entries via email with the award category in the subject line (e.g., “Creative Knights Poetry Award Entry”). 
  2. Only one entry per category is permitted; multiple submissions require separate emails for each category. 
  3. Entries must follow the specific instructions detailed in the award descriptions. Finalists will be notified in April and invited to the Arts and Media Showcase award ceremony.
