The Department of Applied Social Sciences fulfills Marian University’s mission to prepare you to become a transformative leader with excellent teaching and learning in the Franciscan and liberal arts tradition. We offer a well-rounded course of studies that promote academic excellence, professional development, and engagement with both local and global communities.
Our department includes an impressive group of faculty dedicated to teaching, learning, and student achievement. One of the many strengths of our department is the breadth of our interdisciplinary programs.
We encourage and support our students who want to complete double-majors, academic minors, and/or concentrations in other programs in order to maximize both their intellectual development and their future professional opportunities. Our interdisciplinary framework prepares students to enter the workforce and continue their studies in prestigious master's and doctoral programs at colleges and universities across the nation. After graduation our students pursue a wide range of career fields such as law, education, politics, social work, healthcare, business, and activism.
We invite you to be a part of our dynamic, challenging, and transformational department.
