Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Art and Design (Studio Art and Art Education)

Engaging and Empowering Youth Through the Visual Arts

When you complete majors in both studio art and education, you'll be prepared to teach visual arts in K-12 settings, demonstrating the importance of creative expression and the arts to the children who are the future of our society.

Why choose art education at Marian?

Your preparation for becoming an art educator, who makes a difference, combines the advantages of uniting the broad-based curriculum of a liberal arts degree with courses in education, studio art, and art history. As a double major, you will choose a creative discipline and receive methods instruction from The Educators College.

Our program assists you with articulating a mission and vision as an artist-educator through real-world student teaching experiences and professional art opportunities. Advanced studio studies culminate with a senior exhibition, professional communication materials, and a comprehensive portfolio ready for graduate school application or entry into the education profession. You will graduate with a bachelor of arts degree in studio art and all of the requirements needed to apply for a state teaching license.
