Dr. Mason is a passionate advocate for the health of all women—particularly women with limited access to quality medical care. She has served as Chairman of Obstetrics and Gynecology in two large urban medical centers and program director for two Obstetrics and Gynecology residency programs. Her experience with the underserved populations of the world inspired her to complete a Master of Public Health from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. During her east coast experience, she was appointed Associate Commissioner of Health with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene; her tenure included direct involvement with the September 11th World Trade Center disaster.
Dr. Mason joined the Aurora University of Wisconsin Medical Group faculty as program director of the Obstetrics and Gynecology residency program and director of Medical Operations. Her interest in population health and health policy led her to serve as Medical Director for Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield’s Wisconsin Medicaid division.
Her husband accepted a position in Northern California, and she served as an associate professor with Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in Vallejo, California. During her six years with Touro, she became familiar with the principles of osteopathy and osteopathic manipulative medicine. And is a strong promoter of osteopathic principles and practices.
Dr. Mason and her husband relocated to Indiana from California in early 2022. She works with Marian University on its Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) activities and is active in resident education at Ascension St. Vincent Medical Center.
Dr. Mason is happily married, has three children, and is the proud ‘Grandma’ of six. Her interests include Maternal/Infant Mortality, Pediatric Gynecology, Contraception, Physician bias in health care, quality outcomes, community service, cooking, reading, and travel.
Dr. Mason’s motto is: ‘If Mama is healthy…the family is healthy.’
