Bio

Xochitl is from Indianapolis, IN and double majoring in Biology and Chemistry with a minor in computer science. She aspires to earn her PhD in Biochemistry to work in pharmaceutical or biotechnology Industry. Her favorite memories at Marian have included the various research she has done on campus and working with the Denton Lab. In the Denton lab Xochitl had fun researching salamander genomics, especially with her friends and supportive team. She is also the president of Chemistry Club and VP of Sigma Zeta & ASA. She fully believes that science is for all. She also does advocacy work to increase Latino enrollment and retention at Marian.  In her free time, Xochitl enjoys watching movies with her siblings and walking her dog in nature or gardening. Xochitl's favorite spot on campus is the pathway walking up to the fountain. It always gives a serene and calm vibe when she walks around campus.
