The current teacher shortage in the State of Indiana will lead to a surplus of fulfilling, meaningful careers in the coming years; if you are interested in being a leader and an advocate for positive change in your community, teaching may be the career for you! Lead. Inspire. Teach.
The Ivy TechCommunity College/Marian University Teacher Pipeline offers students a path of study from high school (Enrollment in Dual Credit, Education Technical Certificate courses, 30 credits) to Ivy Tech Community College (Associate Degree, 60 credits) to Marian University (Bachelors/Masters Option with teacher licensure and credentialing).
The program offers students enrollment at Ivy Tech with programming designed to facilitate a transfer to Marian, substantially cutting the cost of the degree and giving students access to resources from both institutions.
For example:
Once students transfer to Marian, they will have access to the Klipsch Educator’s College Study Abroad option, as well.
The optional fifth year of the program offers students the opportunity to take advantage of Marian's Teacher Residency Program. This program places students in a full-time, stipend-supported, K-12 teaching position in Indiana, while they complete their coursework for a Master's Degree in Education. Current post-secondary Ivy Tech Students may also opt in to the program and complete their course work in the Education Technical Certificate and Associate Degree at Ivy Tech before transferring to Marian.
