Mission and Purpose

bei logoThe mission of BEI is to promote ethical business practices and provide professional development that strengthens Indiana as a business ethics center of excellence.

Purpose

BEI areas of focus are:

  1. the education of its members in the area of business ethics and compliance;
  2. the promotion of best practices in ethics and compliance among its members and the entire Indiana business community;
  3. professional development and networking;
  4. partnerships with academic institutions to promote the field of business ethics and compliance; and
  5. to create programs and experiences such as the Business Ethics Summit.

Committee

Membership Committee

  • Review membership applications to determine eligibility
  • Maintain membership roster and publish to members annually
  • Outreach to engage and recruit new members
  • Gather and maintain member data protection notices and consent
  • Other tasks as required by Committee Chair

Program Committee

  • Plan quarterly meetings
  • Plan Annual Summit
  • Engage potential speakers
  • Prepare meeting materials
  • Maintain attendance and provide certifications for continuing education credits
  • Other tasks as required by Committee Chair

Governance Committee

  • Assist with member communications
  • Assist with BEI website and other social media as appropriate
  • Assist in facilitating bi-annual officer elections
  • Engage membership in voting and gathering written proxies
  • Draft by-law amendments as required
  • Other tasks as required by Committee Chair

Certification Committee

  • Liaise with Marian University and course instructors
  • Assist in researching and developing course topics
  • Assist in developing new/additional instructors
  • Assist in researching and developing continuing professional education credit
  • Other tasks as required by Committee Chair
