Scholarships and Financial Aid

Marian University awards nearly $24 million annually in grants and scholarships. International students may qualify for various types of scholarship, including academic, athletic, talent-based, and faith scholarships. Additional financial aid options are available for international students.

Academic Scholarships

Saint Mary Academic Scholarship

  • Half to full tuition
  • Awarded each year to first-time freshmen
  • Requires participation in one of two scholarship competition days to be held in November and December
  • Minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.75
  • Minimum test scores of ACT 27 or SAT 1270 (Students with a lower score may submit an essay to be considered)
  • Applicants must gain admission to the university by October 15 to be eligible

 Saint Francis Academic Scholarship

  • $8,000 to $14,000
  • Awarded to eligible freshmen
  • Minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.25
  • Minimum test scores of ACT 24 or SAT 1170 (Students with a lower score may submit an essay to be considered)
  • Awarded at the time of admission offer

Saint Clare Academic Scholarship

  • $6,000
  • Awarded to eligible freshmen
  • Minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.00
  • Applicants must submit an essay
  • Awarded at the time of admission offer

Transfer Scholarships

Athletic Awards

Marian University offers athletic scholarships, so you can excel in the classroom and on the field. These scholarships are competitive and require an interview with the coach. Selection is based on athletic ability and potential contribution to the team.

Talent-Based Awards

Marian University offers five types of awards to students with particular talents. The amounts awarded vary and can be renewable. These scholarships are prestigious and quite competitive, but we encourage all qualified students to apply. The scholarships include scholarships for instrumental performance, vocal performance, theatre arts, visual arts, business, and for the speech team.

Faith Scholarships

Marian University awards two types of scholarships to students with significant church involvement. The amounts awarded vary and can be renewable. These scholarships are prestigious and quite competitive, but we encourage all qualified students to apply.

Need-Based Financial Assistance

When you begin your admission application, you should also begin the financial aid process. You must submit financial aid documents by the due dates below. To apply for need-based assistance, complete the College Scholarship Service’s (CSS) Profile. By completing these forms, you enable our financial aid team to assess your family’s financial picture which, in turn, allows us to offer you the assistance you need based on your family’s eligibility.
