Marian University Hires Saib Othman to Serve as Associate Provost of Academic Affairs

Marian University (www.marian.edu) announced today that Saib Othman, Saib OthmanPh.D., has been hired to serve as associate provost of academic affairs. In this newly created position, Dr. Othman will provide leadership and budgetary oversight for five academic areas; drive efforts around assessment of learning outcomes, faculty recruitment and development; oversee student progress and performance; guide academic planning, program development, and program review; demonstrate leadership in campus-wide efforts in student enrollment and retention, and ensure that the institution meets its academic and related goals. Dr. Othman will report to Dr. Tom Enneking, Executive Vice President and Provost.

Dr. Othman comes to Marian University from Aurora University in Illinois, where he most recently served as the Dean, College of Graduate and Adult Studies, and previously served as the Dean, College of Arts and Sciences. He has held a variety of faculty and leaderships positions during his illustrious career, including Chairperson of the Mathematics Department at Aurora University.

Dr. Othman earned his Ph.D. and M.S. in Mathematics from the University of Iowa, and his B.Sc. in Mathematics/Physics from United Arab Emirates University.
