Kim Pohlman takes on new role as the university continues to expand
Marian University has hired Kim Pohlman to serve as Executive Director of Human Resources and Leadership. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Finance, Facilities, Personnel and Technology, Pohlman will direct the development of intellectual, spiritual, ethical and general effectiveness of a leadership program as well as plan, organize and direct the human resources management strategic initiatives of Marian University.
Pohlman arrives at a critical time in Marian University’s 80-year history. The Catholic university located on Indianapolis’ west side has hired 70 new staff and faculty members to begin the new academic year. The additional hirings were necessitated by Marian University’s tremendous enrollment growth, which includes record total enrollment, a 26 percent enrollment increase in its most recent freshman class, as well as the addition of several new undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
Pohlman comes to Marian University with an extensive background in human resources that includes more than 20 years of leadership experience at Eli Lilly and Company, serving most recently as a Human Resources Implementation Leader and Senior Director of Human Resources from 2001-13.
Pohlman also has previous experience in higher education, having held multiple leadership positions at Drexel University in Philadelphia, where she was also a selected presenter at three national American College Personnel Association conferences.
Pohlman has received three Global HR Awards for her excellence in leadership.
