Gay Lynn Crossley, Ph.D., will serve as the inaugural dean of Ancilla College of Marian University in Plymouth, Indiana. Dr. Crossley currently serves as associate professor of English at Marian University and will begin her role as dean July 15, 2021. She will continue to be a tenured associate professor of English.
As dean, Dr. Crossley will coordinate daily operations with the chancellor of Ancilla College of Marian University and academic quality with the provost and executive vice president of the Marian University system. She also will represent Ancilla College of Marian University and the broader interests of Marian University within the community and foster collaborative opportunities for wider community engagement and economic development.
“Dr. Crossley’s past experience makes her a clear fit to lead academics at Ancilla College of Marian University. Through her leadership, we will fulfill the mission and vision of preparing transformative leaders for service to the world through excellent teaching and learning that empowers students to achieve collegiate goals, successful careers and faith-filled values-centered lives,” Joseph Heidt, chancellor of Ancilla College of Marian University, said.
Dr. Crossley earned a Master of Arts and a Doctorate in English, both degrees specializing in rhetoric and composition, at Florida State University. Teaching at Marian University for 25 years, her courses emphasize research, creative non-fiction and memoir, professional writing, as well as food and culture.
