While he will be a new leader in the university ministry department, he’s not new to Marian University. Scott McNamee ’05 has returned to serve as the new executive director for university ministry. McNamee graduated magna cum laude from Marian with a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 2005. His new role means he will promote Marian’s Catholic Franciscan mission and identity by developing a ministry program, inviting students to encounter our loving God and discover their calling, and encouraging students to live as missionary disciples.
Adam Setmeyer, vice president of mission and ministry hired McNamee. “We are thrilled to have Scott join the Marian University team and share his many gifts and talents with our students, faculty, and staff. He has a great record of ministerial leadership, most recently at St. Theodore Guerin High School, and is a man of deep faith,” Setmeyer explained. “As an alum, Scott understands our Franciscan roots, and will help create a university ministry program that joyfully invites all to explore their calling, and live as missionary disciples.”
“ I am humbled and excited to join Marian University as it is known for its missionary character, rich worship, and service to students on their path of becoming transformational leaders in the world,” he said. “I want to be part of supporting staff and students, and Marian just feels like home.”
McNamee, who also holds a master’s of business administration degree from Anderson University, will also lead a talented staff, empower a student leadership model of ministry, and promote collaboration with and integrate with offices throughout campus.
