Marian University Ancilla is one of four Indiana Independent college winners of the 2022 Ball Brothers Foundation Venture Fund competitive grant program. The schools will share $100,000 in funding for initiatives to stimulate creativity, innovation, and foster competition and collaboration among the state’s 29 private, non-profit campuses.
The 2022 recipients, Marian University’s Ancilla College of Plymouth, Indiana, Indiana Wesleyan University, Oakland City University, and the University of Evansville, was selected from a field of 28 proposals.
Marian University’s Ancilla College will use the $25,000 grant to purchase a Student Auscultation Manikin for the Leighton School of Nursing. This innovative piece of teaching equipment will allow students to practice procedural skills and conduct complex patient scenarios, enhancing learning in the heart, lung, and bowels, making students better prepared to enter the workforce.
The recipients were selected by a panel of judges including Rich Spisak, Ball Brothers of Muncie, Indiana, United Healthcare, Lisa Gomperts, Schmidt Associates, Scott Thompson, Cathy Waggoner, Design Collaborative, and Nick Wallace, BKD, LLP.
