Marian University osteopathic medical student (OMS) Chad Childers '24 can add editor and contributing writer to his career background. The OMS-3 wrote an article entitled "Wait … Patients Are Going To Read My Notes?" for an online peer-reviewed publication for medical students called In-Training.
"More than ever, it is incumbent among medical students to be precise, deliberate, and intentional with their writing, Childers said. "Words have the capacity to both harm and heal—how we use them matters." Childers also wrote another article in late summer in a larger online newsletter STAT. Check out his work here.
Childers says he plans to pursue a career in palliative care and ethics. He earned a Master of Bioethics from Harvard Medical School.
