Marian University has announced that Felicia Stewart, DNP, will be the new Director of the Doctor of Nursing Practice Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Track at its Leighton School of Nursing. Marian’s FNP program prepares registered nurses for the highest level of advanced clinical practice and leadership roles. Dr. Stewart and the faculty will support students through the challenging academic program.
“I am extremely pleased Dr. Stewart is bringing her expertise, energy and unique talents to Marian University,” said Dorothy Gomez, Dean of Marian’s Leighton School of Nursing. “Because of her leadership, I believe our nursing students will be uniquely positioned to succeed in service to others and meet the healthcare needs of our community.”
Dr. Stewart brings 28 years of nursing experience, nearly half of which has been as a board-certified family nurse practitioner. Prior to joining Marian University, Dr. Stewart was an associate professor and FNP program director for Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College while also maintaining a clinical practice in Terre Haute, Indiana, for Proactive MD. She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in nursing, and her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree, all from Indiana State University.
