Marian University Ancilla College Student Shines as a Student Athlete

Meet Marian University Ancilla College (MUAC) Women's Volleyball CaptainVictoria Highland Victoria "Tori" Highland '23 who decided to begin her student athlete journey after a meeting with MUAC's athletic director and learning more about MUAC's top volleyball program.

A shining star on and off the volleyball court, Highland plays as a right-side hitter and also volunteers in the community as a volleyball coach for youth leagues. In her words, “I wanted to be a coach later down the road, and having that captain's role will help me be a better coach later on," Highland said.

Reflecting about her time on MUAC's campus, Highland says she enjoys friendships with her residential assistants and residential director. "They're helpful and always want us as student-athletes to have fun," Highland said. "Plus, I love the way my coach treats us not only as athletes, but student-athletes as well.”

As her spring commencement draws near, Tori will graduate with an associate degree in elementary education and has plans to continue her education and earn her bachelor's degree before beginning her career as a teacher. “I feel well prepared for my future because of how included MUAC is and how much support I have received over the past two years.”
