Felicidades, congratulations to Spanish major Janeth Imán ‘24 on being named Cultural Relations Undergrad Representative at the Near West Free Clinic (NWFC). NWFC is a free clinic run by local health professional students and staffed by local volunteer physicians and physician assistants. The clinic offers examinations, consultations, medications and even food from the local food pantry. It also offers Spanish Interpreters, which is how Imán first go involved.
Imán ’24 said, “I was first interested in the position because I want to continue serving the community and making sure that they have the resources they need to live healthy lives.”
Imán ’24 is the second undergraduate to be named to the NWFC board. Joining her as new members of the team are two first-year Marian University College of Osteopathic medicine students Alexis Klink '26 and Daniel Albatraseh '26.
"This is an exciting achievement! The department is proud of Janeth's accomplishment and confident that she will be a true asset to the clinic, and the community while serving in this role," said Julia Baumgardt, Marian University's chair of languages and cultures, and associate professor of Spanish.
Congratulations to all, especially Imán ’24 as she takes on this new role as the undergrad representative!
