The White Coat Ceremony is a big deal for the Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine (MU-COM) students. This ceremony is the official kick-off for MU-COM students in years three and four entering their clinical years. Medical students are awarded for their achievements over the past year, and MU-COM highlights those students who earned special recognition for their hard work.
The ceremony recognizes academic achievement from the student body as the night's last award. Olivia Kavanaugh, OMS-3 '25, is the 2023 Outstanding Achievement in Pre-clinical Education award recipient. MU-COM faculty members say Kavanaugh OMS-3 '25 is a student who exemplifies outstanding performance in the pre-clinical curriculum, as academic achievement is so significant in the medical field and is very difficult.
Congratulations to all the medical students, especially Kavanaugh OMS-3 '25, on her award and hard work as a dedicated medical student.
