Marian Graduates Make Their Mark at the Paris Olympic Games

Katherine Santos '19, USA Cycling's director of marketing, and Angelina Palermo '18, director of communications and public relations, say they are working their dream jobs as members of the USA Cycling Marketing team at the Paris Olympics.

Katherine and Angelina "These athletes spend a large majority of their life training for the Games, and to be able to tell their story is an absolute privilege, said Katherine Santos. "We are proud Marian alumni and feel lucky to have gone to a school that set us up for success in our career."

Santos and Palermo have busy duties. After their event, they work with athletes in the mixed zone and walk them through NBC-TV's process of managing victory if they medal. They'll also write press releases and act as social media managers.

Both serve as press officers at all of the cycling events, as cycling is one of the only sports with an event every day of the Olympics. The alumnae also work in the mixed zone after athlete events and walk them through NBC's management of victory if they medal.
