Marian University is pleased to announce that the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) and the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) successfully conducted a comprehensive two-day HEC-RAS training at the Witchger School of Engineering. Held on July 15 and July 22, the sessions brought together 24 professionals for an immersive and educational experience focused on floodplain management, hydraulic analysis, and river engineering.
The sold-out workshop covered basics on hydraulics & hydrology, bridge, scour, & culvert design, and DNR modeling & permitting. Participants gained hands-on experience with the latest features and applications of HEC-RAS, significantly enhancing their skills and knowledge in these critical areas. The feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing appreciation for the practical insights and expertise provided by the trainers.
This collaborative effort between INDOT and DNR created a unique learning platform that effectively bridged academic knowledge with industry applications. Special thanks to Mark Bailey, Crystal Weaver, and Nicole Reed from INDOT for organizing this impactful training event.
Marian University looks forward to hosting more such enriching and educational opportunities in the future.
