Meet Peter Kenney, a proud alumnus of Marian University’s Ancilla College, Class of 2024. Peter graduated with an associate degree in Business Information Technology and is now pursuing his studies at the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he plans to focus on film while also continuing his passion for bowling.
Recently, Peter returned from an incredible study abroad experience sponsored by the U.S. Department of State. His journey included three weeks in Austria and one week in Italy, where he participated in a range of educational activities through the University of Steubenville.
Reflecting on the trip, Peter shared that every aspect was an enriching educational experience. Alongside his group, he had the opportunity to attend lectures, explore the local culture through hiking, and immerse himself in the vibrant cities. Peter will also remember when he had the opportunity to attend a traditional Austrian ball. While in Italy, Peter visited the historic town of Assisi, where he had the chance to walk in the footsteps of St. Francis, absorbing the history and spiritual significance of the area.
Peter encourages students interested in studying abroad to apply for scholarships early. Thanks to the Gilman Scholarship, he was able to embark on this life-changing journey. He emphasizes how transformative it was to explore cultures different from our own and urges others to take advantage of similar opportunities.
