Marian University’s St. Joseph College Workforce Development Director Named Career Development Professional of the Year

Jeermal SylvesterCongratulations to Jeermal Sylvester, Workforce Development Director at Marian University’s St. Joseph College who was honored with the Career Development Professional of the Year award at the 19th Annual Impact Awards. The prestigious award, part of the Indiana Work-Based Learning Conference held in February 2025, was presented by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce and Work and Learn Indiana which celebrated individuals who have made significant contributions to work-based learning initiatives.

Sylvester’s efforts in facilitating learning opportunities, engaging with both learners and employers and coaching students on professionalism and career development were highlighted as key factors in his selection for the award.

In expressing his gratitude, Sylvester described receiving the award as both humbling and inspiring. “I am grateful to Marian University’s St. Joseph College for fostering an environment supporting such initiatives and to my colleagues and students who continually inspire me,” Sylvester said. “This acknowledgment not only reflects my commitment but also underscores the importance of collaborative efforts in enhancing Indiana’s talent pipeline through St. Joseph’s effective work-based learning programs.”
