National Center for Teacher Residencies to Convene at Marian University’s Fred S. Klipsch Educators College

Fred S. Klipsch Educators CollegeFrom February 4 to February 6, 2025, the National Center for Teacher Residencies (NCTR), one of the nation's leading organizations advancing innovative residency programs, will gather at Marian University to visit with the Fred S. Klipsch Educators College.

This convening offers a unique opportunity for NCTR to engage with and learn more about the Klipsch Educators College’s cutting-edge residency program, which has become a model of innovation and excellence in teacher preparation.

The leadership team at Marian University’s Klipsch Educators College Teacher Residency Program is eager to collaborate with fellow NCTR Network residency leaders on the theme, exploring “how to listen so residents and mentors will speak.” Marian’s Teacher Residency values honest feedback as an essential part of ensuring the program fulfills its ambitious goals. While the team utilizes NCTR’s Data Suite and collects substantial data internally, they remain deeply curious about whether the voices of residents and mentors are truly captured and reflected in the data to guide program decisions effectively.

Participants will explore the critical question of how authentic voices can drive impactful change and examine recent programming decisions designed to enhance the Residency Year Experience and Mentor Supports. These discussions will also highlight the importance of cross-organizational collaboration and designing for equity as mechanisms for sustained impact.

Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in workshops, panel discussions, and networking sessions that foster collaboration and innovation across the field of teacher residency.

The Fred S. Klipsch Educators College, housed at Marian University, continues to build on its mission of shaping the future of education through strategic partnerships and forward-thinking initiatives.
