Marian University's Tom and Julie Wood College of Osteopathic Medicine marked a notable achievement as its students participated in the 2025 Match Day. This event marked a pivotal moment for graduating medical students across the country as they discover where they will begin their residency training.
Now in its ninth year of graduating physicians, Wood College achieved a 100% placement rate, with all students securing placements in medical residencies across Indiana, the Midwest, and beyond. Match Day, administered by the National Resident Matching Program of the Association of American Medical Colleges, occurs annually on the third Friday in March at medical schools nationwide.
Marian University marked the occasion with a celebratory event, “Confetti and Cheers to Our Careers,” which brought together students, faculty, staff, and families at the Indiana Roof Ballroom to recognize this pivotal step in the students' medical careers.
“The students at Marian University’s Wood College of Osteopathic Medicine Class of 2025 have a bright future ahead,” said Amanda Wright, D.O., Dean of the Wood College of Osteopathic Medicine. “Their dedication and perseverance have led them to this moment, and we are incredibly proud of their achievements. 79% of our students will begin their residencies in primary care specialties, including Emergency Medicine, Psychiatry, and General Surgery, with 44% remaining in Indiana to serve our communities. Their hard work and commitment to excellence are truly commendable.”
