Guang Xu, Ph.D., Earns Tenure and Promotion to Associate Professor of Biostatistics and Public Health at Wood College of Osteopathic Medicine

Since joining MU-WCOM in 2018, Dr. Xu has played a pivotal role in curriculum development, serving as course director for multiple biostatistics and public health courses and implementing innovative teaching strategies recognized by our Center for Teaching and Learning’s Innovative Teaching Award.

Julia M. Hum, Ph.D. program director of the Wood College of Osteopathic Medicine, said, “His dedication to student learning is evident through his mentorship of BMS, DO, and DNP students and his contributions to board exam preparation workshops.”

In research, Dr. Xu has collaborated on multiple peer-reviewed publications, national conference presentations, and interdisciplinary projects. His service extends across the university and beyond, including leadership roles in curriculum committees, faculty governance, and national public health associations.
