Reflections on Our Dear Pope Francis
I offer a reflection on our dear Pope Francis.
Sede Vacante! Pope Francis’ chair is vacant and has passed over to his new and everlasting life with our triune God. Our hearts are filled with joy and boundless gratitude for the service his holiness gave to the church and all of humanity.
Pope Francis' special dedication to Franciscan spirituality and humble service has particularly inspired the Marian University community and our commitment to Franciscan's four values: Responsible Stewardship, Dignity of the Individual, Reconciliation, and Peace and Justice.
His dedication to God's creation, especially his clarity on the insuperable commitment we must all have for the dignity of every human person, will live in our hearts and minds forever.
As Pope Francis enjoys his eternal reward, may we reflect on his holiness's life of service to others, especially to those marginalized and most vulnerable among us, and continue to inspire our commitment to those same values.
Moreover, may the entire Marian community redouble our commitment to serve in the spirit and tradition of St. Francis of Assisi.
With deep and joyful prayers of gratitude, we give thanks for the life, calling, and loyal service of Pope Francis.
