Marian University President Daniel J. Elsener has once again been recognized among Indiana's most influential leaders, earning a place on the Indiana 250 for the fifth consecutive year.
Compiled annually by IBJ Media, the Indiana 250 recognizes leaders from business, education, government, health care, philanthropy, and the nonprofit sector whose leadership is helping shape Indiana's future.
President Elsener's continued inclusion reflects Marian University's growing impact well beyond its campuses. During his tenure, the university has expanded educational opportunities, launched Indiana's first new medical school in more than a century, strengthened K-12 literacy initiatives, and built partnerships that address critical workforce and health care needs across the state.
Over the past year, Marian has continued to broaden that impact through initiatives such as The Grove at Cold Spring, a transformational education and community development project on Indianapolis' near northwest side, and the Crossroads Academic Medical Institute, an unprecedented statewide collaboration designed to strengthen Indiana's physician workforce, expand research, and improve access to health care.
"I'm grateful for this recognition, but the real story is what Marian University is accomplishing through the dedication of our faculty, staff, students and partners,” said President Elsener. “Together, we're preparing graduates who will lead with purpose, strengthen their communities and help shape a brighter future for Indiana. That's the work that inspires me every day."
The Indiana 250 recognizes leaders whose influence extends beyond their own organizations to help drive Indiana's economic, educational, and civic progress. President Elsener's fifth consecutive selection reflects Marian University's expanding role as a convener of partnerships that bring together education, health care, government, business, and philanthropy to address some of Indiana's most pressing challenges.
As Marian University continues to invest in initiatives that strengthen communities, prepare future leaders, and expand educational opportunity, the recognition underscores the university's growing role in helping shape Indiana's future.
